Our Wood Slice Project
![](https://d2jv02qf7xgjwx.cloudfront.net/accounts/318521/images/wood-slice-libguide-web.png)
This summer, we've hidden 40 painted wood slices among the following parks:
-
JJ Lane - 185 Speen St
-
Whitney Field at the Navy Yard - 41 Washington Ave
Families are encouraged to hunt for and keep one slice (per family, please, not per child). If you find multiple, please leave them for the next family to find!
If you find one, please take a picture and send it to natkids@minlib.net. Alternatively, you can post it on Facebook or Instagram and tag us!
The hunt will start Tuesday, July 2 and go until August 16.
Tips for hunting!
-
If you're lucky enough to find more than one slice, please leave it where you found it so other people can enjoy the discovery too
-
Nothing will be buried, so no need to dig!
-
No bushwacking the flora to get to the woodslices - we want to be respectful as we search the parks
-
Have fun!!
Thorn the Unicorn
Our friend Thorn the Unicorn is counting how many wood slices have been found! If you find one, you can let us know through the methods listed above and we'll put another ring on Thorn's horn!
