From "deplatforming" to "content moderation" to "Section 230," we've heard a lot about censorship and free speech rights online lately. In this session, we'll discuss how websites and social media platforms think about online speech, and consider different perspectives on the best ways to ensure a healthy online speech ecosystem.

Meet the presenter!

Meet our presenter: Michelle Ciccone

Michelle Ciccone is a K-12 educator and curriculum developer passionate about digital literacy, media literacy, and digital citizenship. A resident of Natick, she is currently the Technology Integration Specialist at Foxborough High School and is Affiliated Faculty at the Media Education Lab at the University of Rhode Island. In 2019 Michelle was awarded 3rd place in AEJMC’s Best Practices in Teaching Media Literacy competition.
