You are welcome to get a new library card.. The library will not be charging for the new library cards, just like we don’t charge for replacement cards now. However, we ask that you choose one new card design, and not request multiple replacement cards. If you love more than one design, not to worry! We have trading cards with all the designs available for a small fee, individually or as a set.
They work just like regular library cards, with a bit of a twist: you will have the option to choose from 21 different designs. And you can always choose the plain Minuteman cards if you prefer.
Large posters on either side of the circulation desk on the first floor and in the Children’s Department feature all the card designs. Each design has a number next to it. Just give a library staff member the number and they will complete the registration process.
The limited edition library cards are only available at the first floor circulation desk, and the Children’s desk in the lower level of the library. Please visit either desk for a new card.

No, unfortunately you cannot keep your library card number if you choose to get a new card, just the same as you can’t keep your library card number if you need a replacement card because your original one is lost or damaged.
These designs are fantastic and I don’t know which one I like the most. If you can’t decide which library card to choose, that’s okay! We get it, these are incredible works of art from local artists. In addition to the (free) library card, we have trading cards for sale at $1 each, along with an optional lucite frame at no additional charge. There are also trading card sets (21 cards) available for $5 each. This charge just covers the cost of printing, so we can be sure to make more available for patrons all year long.
The trading cards were printed with the idea of offering options to folks who liked more than one design. Offering trading cards that feature all the artists means less waste and more options!
The artists are local artists, ranging from children to adults. You can learn more about all the artists when their Library Card Art is displayed at the library’s Main Level Galleries May and June 2023.
