The Morse Institute Library provides a community space for the display and dissemination of materials for activities, events, and public notices of interest to the local community. Priority is given to those materials most consistent with the mission of the Morse Institute Library. One Community Bulletin Board is located on the Main Level and another on the Lower Level specifically supporting children's services and events.
The following types of information MAY be posted:
Materials from the Morse Institute Library, the Friends of the Morse Institute Library, and the Town of Natick.
Postings of forthcoming continuing education, social, civic, charitable, cultural, or recreational activities sponsored by local nonprofit organizations.
Flyers, brochures, announcements, or schedules by nonprofit organizations of particular interest to the community or by any federal, state, or local government agency pertaining to services provided by the government to local residents.
Materials announcing free community services and volunteer opportunities.
Nonpartisan election information, such as provided by the League of Women Voters or by the Secretary of State.
Materials for tutoring, childcare/daycare services, and babysitting on Lower Level bulletin board ONLY.
The following types of information MAY NOT be posted:
Commercial notices, solicitations, business cards, job postings, or retail advertising.
Personal ads or personal notices of items for sale or lost and found.
Personal solicitations for fundraisers (i.e. walkathons, road races, etc.).
Materials that support or oppose any political candidate or ballot measure, or campaign literature.
Materials that support or oppose a specific religious conviction.
Posting Guidelines:
All items must be reviewed and dated by library staff to be posted. Staff at the Circulation Desk can approve materials for the Main Level bulletin board. Staff in the Children's Department can approve materials for the Lower Level bulletin board. Notices posted without authorization will be removed.
Notices will be displayed for approximately one month.
Only library staff may remove items posted on the bulletin board.
Due to limited display space, the library reserves the right to restrict the size, number, and location of display materials. Some items may not be posted due to space restrictions.
Library staff reserves the right to select notices for events with the widest appeal; priority in posting will be given to library events and programs.
No postings should be greater than 8/12" x 14" size. Oversized posters may be rejected due to space limitations.
The Morse Institute Library does not assume responsibility for materials damaged or stolen.
The Morse Institute Library will not preserve, return, or distribute any materials posted.
Posting of materials does not imply library endorsement or consent; nor does the library accept responsibility for the accuracy of the statements made in such materials.
